the essence of outdoor scenes quickly. Learn the techniques Roland
uses to create his amazing 10-minute journal drawings that have
been featured in "The Artists Magazine." A hardbound
sketchbook and woodless pencil will be provided. A field trip

"Sparkling Snow Scenes in Watercolor" – Snow is a favorite subject of watercolorists. Learn to use negative painting and wet-into-wet techniques to create the softness and beauty of Utah's winter in watercolor. Subjects will include snow on the evergreens and a winter cabin scene. $175

2-Day watercolor Workshop
"Utah Landscapes in Watercolor"
"Painting Utah's Canyon Country in Watercolor" –
One of Roland's favorite subjects, this workshop will teach you to see the values, edges, and shapes that define the red rock country of Utah. We will paint both in the studio and outdoors (weather Permitting) and learn how light and shadow affect what we see. Come prepared to work outside. $175

Class is limited to 12 students. Typical classes consist of teacher demonstrations, power-point discussions, and actual painting time. This is a workshop for painters with previous watercolor experience. A knowledge of the basic watercolor techniques is presumed. Time is 9am to 4pm each day with a 1-hour lunch break (on your own.) Art class fee is $175 due at reservation. You will receive a full refund if cancellation notice is given 30 days prior to the class. No refunds given after that time.
