"Visions of Zion" - September 26, 2009 - January 16, 2010.
Juried Exhibit at the St. George Art Museum featuring art in all
mediums depicting Zion National Park. This exhibit commemorates
the conclusion of the Centennial year for Zion Naitonal Park. Roland
Lee painting, "Morning
Light on the Sentinel, Zion National Park" was featured
in this exhibition. |

February 14 to May 30 2009 - "30 Years of Art Festival Acquisitions".
Show includes my painting "Desert Wagon" acquired by the
city in 1980. This was the first painting ever purchased by the
City of St. George's permanent art collection. |

2008
August 23 2008 to May 30, 2009 - "A
Century of Sanctuary Art Exhibition" featuring artists
of Zion National Park both past and present. Roland's painting "West
Temple Zion" from the permanent collection of Zion Natural
History Association was on display. Roland's painting "Zion's
Great Arch" a 24" x 29' watercolor was displayed in the
historical component of the exhibit and was featured in the accompanying
catalog, "A Century of Sanctuary"
the Art of of Zion National Park". Also included in the
book is an essay by Roland Lee called "Eyes
of the Beholder: Thirty Years of Painting Zion" along with
a question and answer interview with editor Pam Frazier.

2008
Roland Lee paintings from the museum permanent collection
were exhibited in both the "Legacy of Water" and Legacy
of Woods" shows in the museum Legacy Gallery during 2008.
"Spring's a Coming" was donated to the museum by Ron
and Nila Dodson, who own a vast collection of Roland Lee paintings.
The St. George Art Museum purchased two Roland Lee paintings
of Zion National Park for the permanent museum collection in April
2008. " Zion Skies" and "Zion
Canyon - Mountain of the Sun"

One man show "Roland Lee's Canyon Country Paintings"
Mar 30 - July 7, 2007. Over 40 original paintings of Utah's canyon
country were displayed, along with sketchbook drawings and demonstration
sequence posters.

Roland Lee receives Best of Show award at the Southern
Utah Watercolor Society Fall Exhibit held at the St.
George Art Musuem. the SUWS exhibit will continue through
December 22, 2007.

The St. George Art
Museum offers many shows and community outreach programs during the
year. I am often called upon to present watercolor
painting demonstrations to school and community groups. I appreciate
the many museum docents and board members who volunteer countless hours
to serve the art community.
