Details:

This Pencil drawing was done on location in the Netherlands. The Drawing size is about 5 inches wide by 8 inches tall, sketched with a 6B pencil in a hardbound sketchbook by Watson Guptill. I use the sketchbook as a personal reference journal for future paintings. The drawings are not for sale but individual requests may be granted for private non-commercial use.

We had heard that Volendam was the place to see traditional Dutch dress, so we drove on up. It was a heavy tourist spot, and we got our pictures taken in Dutch costumes. But I enjoyed the sailboats in the bay, and loved visiting the amazing Volendam Historical Museum which was filled with original genre paintings of Dutch life.
