Story:
This view of Square Tower was painted on location at Mesa Verde National Park during my two-week artist-in-residency there in 2011. I enjoyed hiking down into this cliff dwelling during a heavy rainstorm. It was so wet that I could not sketch in my sketchbook or take photos. So I did this painting on a sunnier day the next week.
