Story:
At the Spruce Tree House cliff dwelling several kivas have been restored. The public can climb down into one of them, while the others are off-limits. The square entrance hole and ladder are the only evidence that one of the round kivas lies below. This was painted on location at Mesa Verde National Park during my artist-in-residency there in October 2011.
