Meandering in Moki Canyon

Watercolor Painting of Moki Canyon at Lake Powell

Story:

Last fall I had the good fortune to study with noted watercolorist David Drummond at Lake Powell. We spent several days together and went out on his houseboat to study the reflections on the early morning lake. I tried to adapt his techniques to this painting which I did back in my studio from photo reference I shot last summer on another Lake Powell trip. I painted this in preparation for my one-man show at the St. George Art Museum in March 2007 called "Roland Lee's Canyon Country Paintings."
