Giethoorn Vonder Canal Drawing

Sketchbook drawing of bridge over canal in Giethoorn Netherlands

Details:

This Pencil drawing was done on location in the Netherlands. The Drawing size is about 5 inches wide by 8 inches tall, sketched with a 6B pencil in a hardbound sketchbook by Watson Guptill. I use the sketchbook as a personal reference journal for future paintings. The drawings are not for sale but individual requests may be granted for private non-commercial use.

Story:
The charming little town of Giethoorn is famous for its narrow canals and quaint cottages. The residents have to cross little vonders or footbridges to get to their homes across the canals. Their main transportation is via canal boats. Notice that the vonders are just high enough for a boat to pass underneath (with the mast down.)
