Farm Near Westmore Vermont

Each fall we travel to New England to spend a little time enjoying the colorful autumn colors that are so prevalent there. Of course for me that means painting and sketching. This past October we stayed on the shores of Lake Willoughby in a rustic 1900's era home owned by a friend of mine, Sam Kent. Lake Willoughby is located in Vermont's northeast kingdom just north of  St. Johnsbury and Lindonville. A dirt road, Hinton Hill Road, leads from the tiny town of Westmore over the mountain behind the lake. It's one of my favorite drives and affords a beautiful view of the lake. On one of our drives over Hinton Hill Road this little farm caught my eye and I stopped to shoot a few pictures and planned a painting. This painting was done after returning home to my studio in St. George, Utah. I actually used the painting in a watercolor workshop, as a partial demonstration of using receeding values and aerial perspective to achieve distance.

Farm Near Westmore Vermont is reproduced from an original watercolor painting by Roland Lee. Using today's latest Giclee printing technology, each print is individually created with archival inks on Arches 140 lb. cold-pressed paper, which is the same paper the original watercolor was painted on. Even though all pigment fades in time, Giclee prints have a projected life span of 50 to 80 years when kept from direct sunlight. The Giclees are released in an extremely limited edition of just 50 prints. When they are gone, no more will be printed.

Framed pieces are double matted and covered with UV protected archival glass to give them additional protection. Still, display areas should be chosen to keep them away from undue moisture and UV light. Each image is individually printed on order, then hand-inspected and signed by the artist. Because of this care, we need about two weeks from the time you place your order until we can ship the artwork.
