Details:
This Pencil drawing was done on location in the Netherlands. The Drawing size is about 5 inches wide by 8 inches tall, sketched with a 6B pencil in a hardbound sketchbook by Watson Guptill. I use the sketchbook as a personal reference journal for future paintings. The drawings are not for sale but individual requests may be granted for private non-commercial use.
Story:
Many of the homes in Giethoorn, Holland's green Venice, have thatched roofs, which makes sense since all the waterways are lined with reeds. The camelback roof, seen in this travel sketch book drawing covers a part of the house that used to be a barn.
