Details:
This Pencil drawing was done on location in the Netherlands. The Drawing size is about 5 inches wide by 8 inches tall, sketched with a 6B pencil in a hardbound sketchbook by Watson Guptill. I use the sketchbook as a personal reference journal for future paintings. The drawings are not for sale but individual requests may be granted for private non-commercial use.
Story:
We spent a whole day in Middleburg in the province of Zeeland Netherlands. While Nellie did some research in the Middleburg public archives, I sketched the town. Everything is made of brick here from the buildings to the streets, and the old weathered surfaces give a lot of character to the city. This drawing of a little arch was done after we climbed the jillion circular steps to the top of the Tower Lange Jan (Long John) of the Abbey Church. The view from the top was magnificent.
