MATERIALS LIST FOR INDOOR PAINTING WORKSHOPS

If you already have watercolor supplies, don't rush out and buy these. But if you are just starting out, this is the minimum I'd like you to have. In all my classes it is assumed that you already have some watercolor experience, so bring what you are comfortable using.

Watercolor Paper:
For the 2-day class, bring two sheets of 140 lb. Arches cold press cut into quarter sheets. For the 5-day class you will need Five 22x30 sheets of Arches 140 lb. Cold Press (or other good brand) cut into quarter-sheets. 100% rag watercolor paper is critical. Do not buy the cheap watercolor pads. Anything in a ring tablet is not suitable.

Mounting Board and masking tape: Bring a stiff board, incredible Art Board, or Gator board to tape your paper to. The board needs to be portable so we can tip and turn it as we work.

Table Easel: We will be working indoors on tables, so bring a table easel if you like to work with them. Otherwise something to hold your board at a slight angle will be fine.

For Outdoor Painting: If your class will include outdoor painting please bring and outdoor easel, portable paints, folding chair, hat, water, sunscreen, and anything else you need to work outdoors.

Brushes: your choice watercolor brushes
(Taklon, synthetic or Red sable)
Flat wash or Aquarelle - 1 inch preferred
Round #8 or #10
Round #6 or smaller

Cool Blue: Ultramarine blue
Warm Blue: Thalo Blue
