A new documentary film is being produced by renowned film maker and producer Phil Tuckett and the advanced video production students from Dixie State College. The documentary takes a look at the artists of Zion National Park in honor of the 100 Year celebration of the park's founding in 1909. Film was shot at the St. George Art Museum during the exhibition of "A Century of Sanctuary, The Art of Zion National Park" which opened August 2008 and continues through January 2009 as the kick off event for the centennial celebration. Additional filming was done on location in Zion National Park including footage of Roland Lee teaching a watercolor painting class.

Several artists work on plein air paintings as part of a watercolor painting class taught by Roland Lee. At first the artists were a little intimidated by three cameramen and several sound people following them around. But they soon forgot all about it as they became involved in their own artwork.

Roland Lee does a painting demonstration for his students along the Virgin River in Zion National Park. His class was filmed for the new documentary on the Centennial of Zion National Park.

Roland Lee stands by his historic painting "West Temple" which was purchased by the Zion Natural History Association in 1985 and used as their logo for many years. The painting hangs today in the Board Room at the Zion National Park Administrative offices.

Roland Lee was interviewed by Phil Tuckett at the St. George Art Museum as part of the filming for the new documentary on Zion's centennial. Additional film was shot on location in Zion National Park featuring Roland Lee and his art students.
