Zion National Park is one of my favorite places on earth. From Observation Point overlook on the East Rim Trail you can almost see forever. In this painting I tried to achieve the sense of distance through the use of aerial perspective. Notice how I was careful to preserve the white of the paper in the foreground shrubs in order to create the contrast that we see when things are up close in the picture plane.
