Now if you really want to experience the old world Germany, then spend a few days in Rothenburgh ob der Tauber. This wonderful stone city just oozes old-world charm. While walking along the back road which overlooks the valley below, I actually came across this scene and knew I would paint it when I got back to my studio. With a little change in lighting I focused attention on the couple in the foreground and envisioned a suitor bringing flowers to the "flower lady." It seemed like the perfect setting for a little romance.
