"Forest Farm, Switzerland" - Watercolor Painting Demonstration of a Farm in Switzerland
When I start a painting I am never really thinking of an art lesson, but by snapping a few digital phtographs during the process, it gives me something to use in my painting classes and watercolor workshops. I sometimes use these step by step "how to paint" series for powerpoint presentations to art groups such as I did recently for the Utah Watercolor Society and the San Antonio Watercolor Association. In this painting I am really digging into my imagination to find the image, rather than relying on any one photo or experience. It is more the sum total of all the experiences I had hiking along the Alps in Switzerland. This painting was snapped up almost immediately on completion by one of my best collectors, R. Carignan, in Maine, who has a houseful of my originals. I am grateful to all my collectors for allowing me to have all this fun, and still be able to eat!
