"Smith Family Farm" - Palmyra NY
The summer of 2005 I visited a number of historical sites in Pennsylvania and upstate New York. This is the Smith Family Farm in Palmyra New York. I thought it would be interesting to paint the farm as an autumn scene. While there I did many sketchbook drawings, and also took some digital photos with my pocket camera. I used these later in my home studio to come up with this painting, changing several elements, including the season. My painting is a reflection of my own experiences, not a reproduction of a photograph.
