Arches Watercolor
Paper
All of my watercolor paintings are done on either 140lb or 300lb. Cold
Press Arches. This is not only my favorite paper but the choice of leading
watercolorists all over the world. I still enjoy the natural color,
but the new Bright White papers really add punch to watercolor paintings
and are worth trying out. You can get some terrific prices from Dick
Blick especially if you buy 25 sheets at a time like I do. Arches watercolor
papers are mouldmade in France, with 100% cotton fiber content. They
are pH neutral, gelatin-sized, and air-dried.

Incredible Art Board
I have used Upsom board for many years, but it is no longer available.
Luckliy they have come up with a great new lightweight mounting board
called IIncredible Art Board. It is great for stretching watercolor
paper — it won't bend, buckle, or warp. It also provides a smooth
surface for mounting paper, prints, and photos. It feels like foam-core,
but it is much thicker with a surface that repels water. That's why
it costs a little more. It accepts repeated stapling and taping. ½"
thick.

Eldajon Watercolor Palette
I have used lots of different palettes but in the studio I stick with
two Eldajon palettes, one loaded with cool paints, the other with warm
paints. I like the three deep wells which allow plenty of water for
a good size wash. The Eldajon palette has been a favorite of watercolorists
for many years but was unavailable for awhile. Jerry's Art-a-Rama now
carries it for $5.99. The palettes are made of heavy-duty, easy-to-clean,
white plastic, with 3 large wash basins and 12 color wells.
