2010 - Robert and Peggy Sears Invitational Art Show
Roland's painting "Nature's
Sculpture," a painting of Zion National Park won Second Place
in the 2010 Sears Competition. See a Step
by step painting demonstration on how this painting was done. Also
in the show was "Autumn
Lake" a big painting of Mirror Lake at Duck Creek, Cedar Mountain,
Utah. The painting was purchased by Clark and Sandra Jo Benson at the
Invitational.

2009 - Robert and Peggy Sears Invitational Art Show
Both paintings won awards this year. "Solace
at Sinawava" (pictured below) won Second Place and was purchased
by Glenn and Elizabeth Bingham. "Icy
River" won an honorable mention ribbon.
Feb. 2008 - Robert and Peggy Sears Invitational Art Show
I entered two pieces this year, one of The Kolob area of Zion National
Park, and another of Lake Powell. The second piece was awarded a third
place ribbon in watercolor.

2007 - Robert
and Peggy Sears Invitational Art Show
I have participated in the Sears Invitational Art Show for some
years, which is held annually in the Eccles Art Gallery at Dixie State
College. I entered two very large paintings this year and received a
second place award in Watercolor with my "Lake
Powell Panorama." One of my favorite watercolorists, Spike
Ress, took first place with a fine painting. We attended the banquet
and show opening tonight and enjoyed visiting with past collectors and
the other artists. My good friends Frank and Kathy Richards were honorary
guests, and painter David Koch judged the show. Michael Malm won this
year's purchase award.
